First sitting of the Working Group conducting a study on institutional system for fight against corruption is held

  The first sitting of the Working Group — established by the Order of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia of 22 January 2016 with the aim of conducting a study on institutional system of fight against corruption — was held at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia on 29 February, with the participation of Deputy Minister Suren Krmoyan.

 The representatives of the "Armenian Young Lawyers Association", "Freedom of Information Centre of Armenia", "Protection of Rights without Borders" non-governmental organisations, as well as of the Ministry of Justice are included in the Working Group. During the workshop Suren Krmoyan urged members of the Working Group to study the international practice of independent anti-corruption bodies and to consider the appropriateness of applying their models in the Republic of Armenia.

  During the meeting, the work was distributed under the direction of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Working Group Karen Hakobyan with the aim of studying the activities of anti-corruption bodies operating in various countries, according to their models and functions, fixing a one-month period for summarising the studies conducted.
