  • Today, on 11 June, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, the Penitentiary Service and the Chess Federation of Armenia organised a regular event (blitz chess tournament) for re-socialisation of convicts at "Nubarashen" Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, and the tournament was well-received among convicts, who were very excited.

  • Today, the "Support to judicial and legal reforms in Armenia" Technical Assistance Project, funded by the European Union, was launched under the direction of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan. The purpose of the Project is to support the EU-Armenia political dialogue in the justice sector and to assist in the development for future assistance of the EU in the justice sector.

  • Today, Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan received the high-level delegation headed by Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Christos Giakoumopoulos. The members of the delegation were Secretary of the Venice Commission Thomas Markert, Head of Department of Justice and Legal Co-operation Hanne Juncher, Executive Secretary of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) Gianluca Esposito, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Armenia Natalia Vutova and political consultant, representative of the Directorate for Political Affairs Maxim Longang.   • On 29 May, the first meeting for the re-socialisation programme for beneficiaries was launched at the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. The topic of the meeting attended by nearly ten beneficiaries was conflict resolution-discussing the concept of conflicts, becoming familiar with the stages of a conflict and teaching the ways of conflict resolution.
