Ministers of Justice of Armenia and Italy attach importance to co-operation in the fight against corruption

On 13 November, during a working visit to Rome, Acting Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan met with Minister of Justice of the Italian Republic Alfonso Bonafede.

Artak Zeynalyan expressed gratitude to his Italian counterpart for the cordial reception, attached importance to the steps for deepening the co-operation between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries and emphasised that there was great potential for expanding the partnership.

During the meeting, the Ministers discussed the possibilities for co-operation in organising the education of judges, exchange of experience, the fight against money laundering and transnational corruption, as well as in the penitentiary and compulsory enforcement sectors.

The Ministers of Justice of Armenia and Italy also attached importance to the issue of providing legal assistance to encourage investments between the two countries.

Alfonso Bonafede assured that Italy would seek the support of the European Union to implement projects in the justice sector and in the fight against corruption in Armenia, taking into account the results of the meeting with the Acting Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
