Deputy Minister of Justice receives delegation of Swedish National Courts Administration

Today, First Deputy Minister of Justice Kristinne Grigoryan received the delegation of the Swedish National Courts Administration, which is planning to implement a programme for capacity-building of courts.

Deputy Minister Grigoryan welcomed the guests and stated that consistent implementation of anti-corruption and judicial-legal reforms are one of the priorities of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia. In particular, the programmes being implemented for the strengthening of integrity of the judiciary, the increasing of professionalism and development of communication skills were highlighted. The Deputy Minister stressed that the ultimate purpose of these priorities is to ensure a higher level of public confidence in courts.

The members of the delegation presented the details and time periods for the programme being developed. Kristinne Grigoryan expressed satisfaction with the fact that all the priorities of the Ministry are reflected in the proposals of the Swedish side and, in this context, she also stressed the importance of predetermined co-operation with the Academy of Justice.

At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue the close contacts in order to develop co-operation on the aforementioned issues.
